Then a month later, a second baby giraffe was born at the zoo. Kay was born on February 27th, 2022. After her birth, Kay’s mom Allie was unable to properly care for the new born, so the zoo took on all the typical duties of feeding and caring for the new born.

On Friday, April 1st, 2022, just 5 weeks after Kay’s birth, both baby giraffes were outside in the giraffe play area. Both were active, moving around and interacting with each other as well as the other giraffes during our visit on Saturday, April 2nd.
At one point, one of the youngsters even came right up next to the fence near the zoo’s playground area and fed off a bottle handled by a zoo keeper.
